Design for first step, a program for people who suffer from addiction in Kent.

Challenge

The aim was to create a welcoming and supportive identity for first step, a programme in Kent that helps people who are struggling with addiction. It was really important that the service felt approachable, trustworthy, and honest, giving people a safe space where they feel seen, heard, and understood.

Approach

To make sure the rebrand was shaped by real experiences, I spent time at a local support service in Leeds. There, I spoke with people who had first-hand experience of addiction and recovery. Their stories and insights helped me understand what makes a service feel safe and supportive, and this became the foundation for the design.
